Winter 2009-2010

 

 

Tuesday

 

>Shiloh Road - 7:00-8:00.  (400N to exit 12A McFarland Rd. left at second light).  Lights are required, cold dark training, excuse to ride.  Call Eric Broadwell at 678-520-7337 to confirm the ride.

 

Wednesday

 

>Reality Bikes - 6:15-8:00.  From Bluegrass Business Park, Cumming.  Park at the 1st business park on the left.  The business park is lighted.  However, both front and rear lights are mandatory.  The ride is scheduled for cancellation in extremely cold weather (below 32 degrees).  Take 400N to exit 12A McFarland Rd, Go East about ½ mile.  Turn left into the business park, "The Meadows".  You will see a statue of 2 horses at the entrance.  If you start heading up the hill you went too far.  Turn left.  Go into the park about ¾ of a mile.  Please try and park as close to road as possible. Easy/Winter pace.

 

Saturday

 

>Kennesaw/Beyond Allatoona - 9:00.  From Pacesetter Steal parking lot - 3300 Townpoint Dr.  Take I-75 to exit 271-Chastain Rd.  Go west on Chastain Rd approximately ¼ mile and take a left on Town Point Dr.  Bear right at first intersection.  Watch out for the one with the low-clearance bar!  From I-75 and 285 expect about a 15 minute drive to the start of the ride.  Options are 55 or 75 miles - Training - Definite A (18-19 mph) and B (16-17 mph) groups after restroom break with slight course variation.  Not for casual riders.  Rolling terrain from Kennesaw towards Cartersville.  Course is well marked with white "CW"s.  One restroom break and one store stop.

 

>Webb Bridge - 7:30 am in the summer, 8:00 am in fall/winter.  From the parking lot on the NE corner of North Point Pkwy and Webb Bridge.  From 285 take 400 North to Old Milton exit 10, turn right, go ½ mile then left on North Point, go another ½ mile to Webb Bridge. Go through intersection and park in lot on the right.  A and B rides of about 55 miles.

 

>Tucker - 9:00 during DST and 10:00 during Standard Time.  From Tucker High School on Lavista Road.  24 mph++.  Terrain is hilly, and distance is about 43 miles.

 

>Six Flags and Beyond - 10:00.  From Atlanta Cycling Vinings store.

Sunday

 

>Airport Ride - 10:00 during the winter.  From the Trinity Lofts in Castleberry Hills.  Parking is limited.  Please ride to the ride.  This is a race training ride during the winter with average speeds of 18-20 mph.  Options are 43 and 63 miles.

 

>Alpharetta City Hall - 12:45.  Across from Smoke Jack BBQ in downtown Alpharetta.  Moderate “base pace” or “recovery ride”.  For questions, e-mail Kim Chapman at kim@truelifefitness.net or Tom Palmer at triallaw@comcast.net. Map.  Taking a break for Summer 2009, will be back in the fall.  Options are 50 and 35 miles.

Spring/Summer 2009

Monday

>Roswell Bikes - TBD .  From 285, take 75 North to first Hwy 5/Canton Hwy exit.  Turn right off of the exit then right at the first light on Sandy Plains Rd.  At the second light, turn right into the West Oak Business Park.  This is a training race for racers and strong riders only.  Aerobars or similar bar extensions are not allowed, and the yellow line rule is enforced.  Ride is 60 minutes plus 5 laps.

Tuesday

>Marietta Crit - 6:30  Daylight savings time only.  At the West Oak Business Park

>Sandy Springs World Cup - 6:30.  From the Church on Mt. Vernon Rd.  From 285 go North on Roswell Rd, left on Mt. Vernon and park on the left across from the Church.

>Life Time Fitness6:15 for the A group, 6:20 for the B group.  From Life Time Fitness - 855 North Point Parkway, Alpharetta.  28 miles.

Wednesday

>Reality Bikes "Calzone Ride" - B group leaves at 5:50, A group leaves at 6:00.  From Reality Bikes in Cumming.  The marked course is 28.5 miles.

Thursday

>Buckhead Bellyache - 6:30 during Daylight Savings Time, slower (17-18 mph pace) may leave at 6:15.  From St. Phillips Cathedral on Peachtree St.  Terrain is hilly, and the ride usually splits into several groups.  The church lets riders park in the parking lot.  Please use the restrooms inside the church to change or change before hand.  No changing in the parking lot!  The side doors are open.  Be courteous to church goers.  Loops of up to 23.5 miles.

 

>Bike Roswell - 6:30 A, B, and C Groups.  From Riverside Park in Roswell.  *Note: The start time may change during April and Sept.  Check on  www.bikeroswell.com for the correct start time.  Rides are 21 and 26 mils.

Saturday
